Not Just A Painter (or a pretty face)

I have many (many) hobbies, none of them cheap but all of them entertaining.
Today I wanted to share with you two of my recent unboxing videos for Magic the Gathering Khans of Tarkir and Fate Reforged sets.

I started playing Magic the gathering during Zendikar block (which is still my favourite to date (mmmm delicious full art lands....)) and it's something I return to every now and again to get my hobby fix. Just recently I've had Friday evenings free again and I've been making an effort to go and play some Friday Night Magic at my local shop.

Whilst Zendikar is my favourite block I've been pretty impressed with Khans of Tarkir so far and ended up spending more than I should a couple of weeks ago on a fat pack and a holiday gift box, both of which I put up on youtube because anyone who loves magic the gathering loves watching people get good (and terrible) cads in their booster packs!

But don't panic, this doesn't mean I wont be painting any more, I have been working on something I'm very pleased with which I'll put up over the coming week, I promise! And I've got the next lot lined up, I just need some superglue and some undercoat...

Both armies that I'm selling are now on eBay;

Grey Knights for sale
Dark Eldar for sale

If you'd like to help fund my addictions (all legal) or, as mentioned in my last post, help me buy some baby clothes or even if you just like buying Grey Knights or Dark Eldar why not put in a cheeky bid, or send someone who might be interested my way.

Thanks guys!

p.s. big thank you to all the well wishers on my very welcome news, we'd been trying for a while but we had begun to lose hope so we're ecstatic!

Raising Funds...

...For the BIGGEST project of my life (among other things)

No, I'm not making a full sized replica of Osgiliath (not yet), nor am I making a 1:1 Diorama of the final battle of the last alliance. I am embarking on that age old institution of Fatherhood (thanks!) but as I'm sure many of you know with this comes the equally age old institution of selling everything you possibly can to raise a bit of cash, not only to provide baby with all the essentials but also to provide the soon-to-be encumbered hobbyist with some spare cash for more urgent hobby projects and so time has come to call time on my 40k 'stuff' I've been skimming down my collection over the last few years because frankly 40k does not interest me in the slightest any more and my Dark Eldar and Grey Knight armies are the last to go.

I've posted a thread on warseer listing the two armies up for sale and I'm selling them at a pretty hefty reduction on RRP for a quick sale. If any of you can help me out in this quest for cash I'd be greatly appreciative!

Don't worry though, This doesn't mean I'm selling my Lord of the Rings! No, I fully intend to teach my child/children to play and I'll still be painting when /I get a chance in between DIY and Dirty nappies >.<

Showcase - The Witch King on horseback

Well I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas filled to the brim with miniatures and general wargaming related goodness. I certainly did! But getting back in to the swing of things post Christmas has been hard, does anyone else feel like their life gets progressively more difficult, jam packed and hard to squeeze a spare 5 minutes out of? Good, so it's not just me then...

I've not even had much time for painting but I have managed a few bits and bobs this year, one of those is the Witch King on horse, the original metal model, It is, of course, now out of production but I managed to pick him up on ebay for less than a tenner which is a bargain considering I paid about £2 more than the original price.

I'd definitely recommend him as a model worth adding to anyone's collection, He's a pleasure to paint and has a fantastic pose, full of menace and general wraith-y goodness.

He is not my only mounted Ringwraith, I have another 3 of the original metals for him to lead, they just need a little paint...

Whats to come in 2015?

I've got some painted Uruk Hai scouts to show you all as well as Arwen and Frodo on horseback. I've also been working on a paint guide section for this blog where I'll be uploading my paint schemes that I use for each model so you can give them a go at home. I'll be adding to my youtube channel with some let's paints when I get a chance to do some filming.

Thanks for all you're kind comments and critique in 2014, I'd love for you to keep coming back this year too.
